Introduction to the NIH Data Sharing Index (S-index) Challenge

This workshop and following networking session will introduce the NIH Data Sharing Index (S-Index) Challenge. The challenge aims to create a standardized data sharing metric, inspired by the h-index, that rewards researchers who exemplify best practices in data sharing. The winning S-Index would be adopted by the NIH, with awards of up to $500,000. Participants in the workshop will learn about the challenge’s goals, participation requirements, expected outputs, and the role of FAIR data principles in fostering openness and collaboration. After the presentation, attendees can network and form groups for participation in the challenge.

All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
